As a recreation therapist, I also assist Applied Dungeon Masters in their #games .
Assisting in an online #dungeonsanddragons game for #autistic#teens I provide individualised support that enhances their gaming experience.
I do this in a passive manner, working alongside them and talking about various options on their #charactersheets that suit the situation.
#Working with the #players like this, helps to develop #social and #communication skills, and gives them #insight into #strategies to help them engage effectively with the game and each other.
Assisting the #DungeonMaster with the players experiences, also helps manage #sensorysensitivities and I also address any potential #conflicts .
By offering this tailored support, I am ensuring that the game is not only enjoyable but is also seen as a #safe activity by the players.
The game in this image uses @arkenforge , an Australian #virtualtabletop software company that sponsors my #therapeuticgaming activities.
The #adventure is run by a #livedexperience Autistic dungeon master for a group of four autistic teens. It is set in the #dragonlance#universe.
