Aspergers Victoria booth at Conquest Melbourne

@conquestconmelb is a #tabletopgaming convention held annually in #Melbourne , #Australia . It is a smaller convention compared to #PAX , but that allows it to focus on #local#gamedesigners and #players .

#AspergersVictoria is a #grassroots national #Autism organisation that runs a specialised initiative designed to provide their membership with an #opportunity to engage in #intentional#social#activities through tabletop gaming. I run a #SchoolCan‘t #DungeonsandDragons campaign for them, and I am also their (volunteer) Membership Coordinator.

Conquest Melbourne benefits Aspergers Victoria #D&D participants in several ways.

 The #convention offers a rich and #diverse gaming #environment where participants can engage with a wide range of tabletop gaming experiences, not just limited to DND.

Interacting with fellow gamers and industry professionals provides opportunities for socialisation, communication skills development, and networking.

Participating in organized play sessions, tournaments, and demonstrations at Conquest Melbourne allows #roleplayinggames enthusiasts to deepen their understanding of games, explore new strategies , and enhance their #gameplay#skills. Engaging in these activities fosters a sense of competence and achievement among participants, boosting #self-confidence and #self-esteem.

Additionally, Conquest Melbourne serves as a community hub for tabletop gaming enthusiasts, offering a supportive and #inclusive environment where individuals can share their #passion for gaming and connect with like-minded peers. This sense of belonging and camaraderie is particularly beneficial for individuals with #Aspergers or #autismspectrumdisorder , providing them with a #space where they can feel accepted and valued.

Overall, attending Conquest Melbourne provides Aspergers Victoria members (and their families) with opportunities for social interaction, skill development, and community engagement, contributing to their overall well-being and personal growth.
