I run a daytime Dungeons and Dragons group that focuses on autistic homeschoolers and school refusers (school can’t) between the ages of 10-17 for Aspergers Victoria.

“It’s so much fun, you get to meet other nice people who are fans of DND too. I’ve learnt so much about DND, this group is definitely the highlight of my week!” Player Extraordinaire.

“I can’t thank AV for their DND program enough. It has totally changed my sons life. It has supported him to cultivate DND into a real passion, bringing him so much excitement and joy, having positive impact on so many areas of his life”. Parent Extraordinaire.

If you’re a parent, carer or support coordinator don’t hesitate to send me a message for more information.

These are perhaps the most vulnerable kids, dealing with real trauma, and unfortunately that does correlate with a turn over in numbers.

I am a registered counsellor and work laterally and passively with the kids and their families to earn trust, give agency, and avoid demand.

I also work privately with most of the kids in the group, and we allow them to touch base, debrief, and have their own time and space while making real connections with each other.

That’s part of why I focus on referring my most vulnerable clients to this 30 year old organisation, instead of feeding them into my own groups outside AV: the connections and long term support families can receive from Aspergers Victoria.

AV also runs weekday evening groups for Ages 10-14, 15-17 and 18+ https://aspergersvic.org.au/AV_D&D_Program_Upcoming

(And yes, Aspergers is an outdated term, the organisation is in the process of changing their name to something more appropriate)
