Profile
Eltham library is situated close to the Eltham Station, surrounded by parks and cafes. Inspired by its rich history of literary and artistic excellence, the library continues to be a welcoming community hub. It offers members a place to read, to learn, and to connect. We provide a consistently evolving collection of books — along with a French and German collection — audio visual materials, magazines, and access to computers and printing, photocopying and scanning services. You’ll also discover quiet areas for study, and a secure children’s native garden.
Our Storytimes are renowned and much loved by local families. We offer members opportunities to engage with authors, learn new skills, and join book clubs and other community groups. The addition of a seed library where community members can swap and share seeds fosters our passion for sustainability and the environment.
Enjoy exhibitions by local artists in our Community Gallery, as local son Alan Marshall’s bronze statue welcomes you to the library precinct.
Our knowledgeable and friendly staff look forward to your visit.
