The physical terrain and miniatures make the game world more tangible

As a Recreation Therapist, I’ve seen firsthand how Dungeons & Dragons (DND) can transform lives—especially for individuals with health concerns like Acquired Braini Injuries 《ABI), Cerebral Palsy. or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Add physical terrain and miniatures to the mix, and you’ve got a recipe for both connection and growth!

The physical terrain and miniatures make the game world more tangible, helping clients better understand abstract concepts like spatial relationships and imaginative settings. For visual learners, these elements bring clarity and reduce anxiety, creating a bridge between their imagination and the game’s narrative.

Moving miniatures on a map also provides grounding sensory input and builds fine motor skills!
