Thrive Disability Support has a new worker with gaming experience

Michael Thorburn is the founder of the Game Therapy Network. His daughter, Ashley Thorburn, runs an activity based disability agency Thrive Disability Activity Support and they have a new worker with gaming experience.

Anna is training to be a Social Worker and operates in the North-East of Melbourne.

Social workers make great support workers because they are trained to listen, communicate well, and build trusting relationships with people.

Their understanding of trauma, systems, and advocacy also helps them support clients in a respectful, person-centred way.

Anna is in her third year of a Bachelor of Social Work and completing professional placement.

She’s currently looking to take on some new participants to build social skills and independence through video games, craft and other quiet activities.
